Garden Design, Install, & Maintenance

I offer garden design, plant installation, and ongoing maintenance with a focus on thoughtful, hands-on work. Each service is rooted in simple, effective methods that support long-term plant health and a clean, natural look. Whether I’m creating a new layout, installing plants, or maintaining established beds, I aim to keep things low-impact and efficient without cutting corners. My goal is to help gardens grow strong and stay beautiful with time, care, and practical attention to detail.

  • My approach to garden design is rooted in simplicity, care, and joy. While I’m not a formally trained landscape designer, I use professional design tools to create visual plans that show plant placement, scale, color, and growth over time. I start by taking photos of your space and getting to know your needs, then I thoughtfully select plants based on what’s available at local nurseries and what works well for your microclimate. I enjoy visiting nurseries in person to check plant health and availability, always keeping your garden’s long-term beauty and sustainability in mind. My goal is to create outdoor spaces that feel personal, peaceful, and full of life—now and in the seasons to come.

  • As a solo landscaper, I focus on efficient, low-impact methods for installing plants that support long-term health and growth. My process starts with removing invasive plants and grasses by hand, taking care not to disturb the vital Mycorrhizal fungi networks in the soil. These underground relationships between fungi and plant roots are essential for nutrient uptake, water absorption, and overall resilience. I avoid using heavy machinery that compacts soil, instead relying on sharpened hand tools and shovels to prepare new beds. I practice no-till gardening, using compost and mulch to build soil health naturally. When needed, I amend the soil with organic materials to help revive tired areas. My goal is to install gardens in a way that nurtures both the plants and the living soil beneath them.

  • Ongoing maintenance is the core of what I do. Many of the gardens I care for already have a strong sense of place, and my job is to support what’s working by understanding plant cycles, seasonal needs, and smart pruning. I’ve spent years learning how to keep plants healthy in different microclimates, and I always aim to set up new gardens for low maintenance in the long run. I want gardens to look good and stay strong without needing constant attention. I also keep my tools in top shape—sharpened, clean, and high quality—because good tools and clean cuts help prevent disease and keep plants thriving.
